Is summer almost over? LOL!!! For some reason my 13 year
thinks he can run around the house shooting his air soft gun. I don’t think so! He keeps telling me there is no air soft bullets in it. Its the Pop! Pop! Thats get me irritated not to mention his 10 year old brother is jumping over our couch and hiding, screaming and yelling. I have had enough and I took all 6 air soft guns away. I know I’m a mean moma

Do something FUN with your teenager
Tuesday, June 27th, 2006Are you looking for ways to spend quality time with your teenagers? Here are a few things you can do together with your teens to build a stronger relationship.
Signs & Symptoms of Teen Depression
Thursday, June 22nd, 2006Hi there Moms!
It is very important that we watch our teens for any signs and/or symptoms of depression. Teen depression isn’t the occasional melancholy or sadness that we may view our teens to go through from time to time. Teen Depression is melancholy, sadness or a mood of despair that lingers for a long time and limits the teen’s ability to function normally.
Below is a list of some of the common symptoms of teenage depression (Depression may be indicated if an adolescent experiences an unusual degree of the following symptoms):
Teenage girls and boyfriends …
Tuesday, June 20th, 2006How old were you when you had your first boyfriend? I was 16 - when I had my first boyfriend. But, it wasn’t really a serious kind of relationship … I remember that fun “butterfly” feeling in your stomach when you know you are going to see “him”…. That was soooooo long ago but I can still remember that feeling.
Where is the phone?
Wednesday, June 14th, 2006OMG - how many of you mothers of teens out there have to scrounge around for the phone when it rings only to find it burried under your teens covers, laying on the bathroom sink or sitting on the banister someplace with the teen no where to be found. What’s even worse than that is when someone calls you, leaves a message with your teen and they conveniently forget about it! And let’s not forget how many times we pick up the phone to place an important call ONLY to hear your teen giggling and talking away. Of course they will be off in 2 minutes, or is that 2 hours
Will you get a haircut PLEASE!
Sunday, June 11th, 2006Do you ever have to argue with your teen boys to get a haircut? I know, I know - I have HAIR issues. Last time, I blogged about how long it takes my daughter to get her hair fixed. This time, I am blogging about my frustration with my teen boy’s hair. Honestly, I hate how it looks. It’s too long! It makes him look skinnier and really dirty. YUCK! But, no matter how I beg or even threaten him - he refuses to budge. He says, “It’s my hair, MOM!” - UGH!
Oh my, is summer here already?
Thursday, June 8th, 2006I am pretty sure that your teens are very excited about the ending of the school year and the beginning of summer break and I bet many of you moms are thinking “Oh No, I will NEVER be able to keep food in the fridge“, “OMG the electric bill will be through the ROOF“. “Hey, she has been on the phone ALL DAY, why didn’t she click over“?
Ahh… the joys of parenting teens in the summer time. Have you looked into any teen camps, programs or activities for your teenager(s). What about Summer jobs? Were your children able to find a job, are they looking for a job?
Does your teen daughter take forever to fix her hair?
Thursday, June 8th, 2006My 15 year old daughter takes forever - well, actually it has sped up a bit since she got a new haircut. She needs to be in school at 7:30am. She wakes up at 6:00am - showers and takes forever to get ready for school. Sometimes, I stress out more than she does because I hate driving fast.
I guess I am luckier than my other mom friends because our kids have their own bathroom and we have our own. So waiting time for the bathroom is not too much of an issue - plus, I only have one teen daughter and 2 buys so, I guess I am fine.
Will you please STOP annoying your little brother ?!?
Sunday, June 4th, 2006Do your teens annoy their younger siblings purposely? I think … they are just bored and try to find something to amuse themselves. Tormenting their younger brother or sister looks as though it is truly amusing to them. The sad part is that I find that I need to threaten them before they actually stop.
Don’t make me go there!
If you don’t stop this instant … I will …
Wait ’til I tell your Dad …
What’s up with the “Rolling of the Eyes?”
Friday, June 2nd, 2006Does your teen daughter “Roll their Eyes” when you try to have a conversation with them? I swear … my daughter rolls her eyes all the way to the back of her head when I try to get a point across her. What’s up with that? HEY, I was a teenager too at one point of time and I can never re-call rolling my eyes at my mom. Is that what they do now … I mean - teenagers. It’s not like she does it only once in a while - I mean … it’s quite often and honestly it is annoying - sometimes, I think it may be a sickness - do I have to take her to the doctor? She never seems to roll her eyes like that when she talks to her friends - well, ok, maybe sometimes - when they say something annoying …. that makes me think - am I annoying? Well , I could be … but, I am sure … not always …
