What’s up with the “Rolling of the Eyes?”
By Mother | June 2, 2006
Does your teen daughter “Roll their Eyes” when you try to have a conversation with them? I swear … my daughter rolls her eyes all the way to the back of her head when I try to get a point across her. What’s up with that? HEY, I was a teenager too at one point of time and I can never re-call rolling my eyes at my mom. Is that what they do now … I mean - teenagers. It’s not like she does it only once in a while - I mean … it’s quite often and honestly it is annoying - sometimes, I think it may be a sickness - do I have to take her to the doctor? She never seems to roll her eyes like that when she talks to her friends - well, ok, maybe sometimes - when they say something annoying …. that makes me think - am I annoying? Well , I could be … but, I am sure … not always …
My daughter is now 15 - I know … she has grown up sooooo fast. When I talk to her - I still see her cute little innocent 4 year old face - I remember when she used to gives me lots of HUGS and KISSES … I miss that. Now, I envision her cute little innocent 4 year old face when she talks to me but as soon as I see the rolling of the eyes - I wake up to reality … she is no longer the little girl who could never give mommy enough hugs and kisses - she has grown up … I am not ready - to let her grow up yet - I miss the little girl and hugs and the kisses - I soooo do not want to see the rolling of the eyes … is there any way I can fix this? Or should I just accept what my little girl has become … tell me moms of teens - does it get any easier?

Awww no need for a trip to the Dr. Kinda joke with her and “you know what, your eyes may stay that way”. “it really isnt nice to roll your eyes, actually it is a sign if disrespect”
Both of my girls went throught this eye rolling stage = WOW and they were good. I am a firm (but fun) mom and eye rolling was just a big no no. Hmm now if I could JUST get them to stop STOMPING Up the steps….
