Oh my, is summer here already?

I am pretty sure that your teens are very excited about the ending of the school year and the beginning of summer break and I bet many of you moms are thinking “Oh No, I will NEVER be able to keep food in the fridge“, “OMG the electric bill will be through the ROOF“. “Hey, she has been on the phone ALL DAY, why didn’t she click over“?
Ahh… the joys of parenting teens in the summer time. Have you looked into any teen camps, programs or activities for your teenager(s). What about Summer jobs? Were your children able to find a job, are they looking for a job?
Here in Washington, DC my 14 year old daughter joined a Youth Employment program during the last semester of school and thank goodness they found a part time job for her. I think it is very important that our teens stay occupied during the summer month while incorporating some fun into the day.

My daughter has been thinking about getting a summer job too - we’ll see what kind of job - she has in mind. I’ll have to check if we have a Youth Employment program around our area too … then perhaps she can start paying for her own cell phone bill - lol.
