In the kitchen with your teen
By Mother | November 28, 2006
My 15 year old daughter loves to cook. This past Thanksgiving, my daughter helped me cook our Thanksgiving feast. I had a lot of fun with her. She helped by washing and drying the turkey, of course- she had the be the “Taste Tester” for the stuffing and gravy. She also helped prepare the desserts - apple nut ring and pecan tassies. She loves baking and was so serious when I asked her to get the ingredients ready. She did a great job taking the pecan tassies out of the muffin pan … that was a challenging task - I was very impressed with her patience - of course in between taking the pecan tassies out of the pans, she ate a few -
We giggled a lot - we argued some too - after our Thanksgiving Feast - I realized, I didn’t take pictures of us cooking together … I was bummed. I must remember next time to have my hubby take pictures of us working nicely together in the kitchen. Oh well - next time!
Do you spend time in the kitchen with you teen/s? If you have not, find an easy recipe you guys can make - my kids like making pizza - that’s pretty easy … try it … I guarantee it is a lot of fun and something the kids will never forget.
