What positive things do you do with your teen?

By Aurelia | January 15, 2007

We all get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life but it is important to take some time out for our teens. Spending one on one time with our teens is an essential part of parenting and although you may think you teen wont appreciate it, I bet he/she will.

Here is a short list of positive things that you can do with your teen:

1. Talk to your teen about his or her day daily.
2. Volunteer together.
3. Cook with your teen. Pick a day and together you both can pull together a great dinner.
4. Take a class together.

Wonderful post Aurelia. It has become a habit for me to ask my teens how their day went - sometimes they think I am too nosy. We have volunteenred for church functions as a family. We enjoy cooking together - and eating together too. Also, my daughter and I have take Salsa Cardio lessons together - that is a lot of FUN and we laugh a lot together - mostly because she laughs at all my dance moves.

Since our teen is homebased taught we spend a lot of time together. We have lunch together, attending seminars, workshops and field trips together. We recently went on a tour of the local animal shelter.
