Babysitting as A Teen After School Activity

Babysitting has always been a great way for teens to earn a few dollars. Babysitting helps teens learn more about responsibilty, understanding, caring and most importanty - being able to think quickly in case of an emergency.

Little children look up to teens as their role models. Teens who enjoy caring for little children are good candidates for babysitters. Having younger siblings to watch is good training for these teens. It gives them some kind of experience when they help care for their younger siblings. Babysitting, however, is not an easy job. It requires lots of patience. Your teen will be able to tell if this “gig” is not for them after the first couple times they try to babysit a young child. Your teen may realize that babysitting is only for those who are “mature” in thinking - because they have to be in control.
